Overview and objectives of the PhD courseo
The PhD in Computer Science aims to train researchers and innovators in Information Science and Technology. For this purpose, PhD students are involved since the beginning in the research activities carried out in the proposing structures, in addition to attend specific monographic courses, international schools in the sector and to spend study periods in laboratories and research centers in Italy and abroad.
The trained PhDs will be able to define new models and theories for automatic computation and information processing; new systems and algorithms for the organization, storage and use of large amounts of data; new languages and tools to support emerging programming paradigms; new categories and technologies for the organization of computing systems.
Additionally, they will be able to exploit the opportunities offered by the ICT in techno-social networks; to promote and to master the interdisciplinary dialogue; to analyze complex systems at scientific, biological and social level; to understand and to guide the impact of the ICT innovations in these areas.
