Deadline for the enrolment
Successful candidates, with or without a grant, have to complete the enrolment submitting the documents indicated below – under penalty of exclusion – no later than October, 27 2014, with one of the following ways:
- delivery by hand to the PhD Office, - Complesso ex Marzotto Edificio E - largo Bruno Pontecorvo 3 Pisa (Monday and Friday 9.00-11.00; Wednesday 11.00-13.00; Tuesday only with appointment 15,30-17,30; Thursday only with appointment 11.30-13.30);
- by fax to the number 0502210620. The fax must arrive no later than October, 27 2014 , h. 24:00 CET (Central European Time).
Successful candidates with a grant
Successful candidates with a grant have to submit:
- the enrolment form (FORIMM/DOTT) filled and signed with the Italian stamp of € 16,00 apply the stamp, adding the date to pen. Important: Please use only the form available at the end of this page
- a photocopy of a valid identity document
- the receipt of the payment of € 140,00 (Regional fee) by using the MAV available on Alice (www.studenti.unipi.it) in the section "Tasse"
- only for the Non-EU citizens: a copy of the permit of stay no later than November, 30th 2014.
After the enrolment, successful candidates with a grant must also:
- insert into Alice (www.studenti.unipi.it) the information regarding the modality of the payment of the grant. The instructions are available at the end of this page.
- fill in the INPS registration form that can be accessed from page: http://www.inps.it . You have to click on "Elenco di tutti i servizi" in section "Servizi Online", and then on "Domanda d'iscrizione alla gestione separata". To access the service you need to have your Fiscal Code (Codice Fiscale) and the PIN issued by INPS.
Successful candidates without a grant
Successful candidates without a grant, can:
a) complete the enrolment without the grant submitting the documents indicated below:
- a photocopy of a valid identity document
- the enrolment form (FORIMM/DOTT) filled and signed with the Italian stamp of € 16,00 apply the stamp, adding the date to pen. Important: Please use only the form available at the end of this page)
- the receipt of the payment of € 407,00 (first instalment of University tuition fees) by using the MAV available on Alice (www.studenti.unipi.it) in the section "Tasse" or the receipt issued by the D.S.U.
- only for the Non-EU citizens: a copy of the permit of stay no later than November, 30th 2014.
b) submit the form available at the end of this page. In this form he/she have to declare:
- that he/she wants to renounce to the position without a grant
- that he/she wants only in a position with a grant (if it will be available)
In this second case candidate have not to pay the first instalment of University tuition fee.
How to obtain magnetic card
Firstly the winner has to obtain the matriculation number by the PhD Office of University of Pisa. Than the winner can ask the magnetic card following the steps indicated below:
- access "Sportello virtuale" (http://sportellovirtuale.unipi.it)
- login to the personal area with the ID and the Password used for the on-line registration to the competition
- click on "Ricerca in linguaggio naturale"
- type the following sentence in the space provided: "Tessera magnetica per dottorandi" and click on "Cerca"
- continue with the instructions given by the Portal.
University tuition fees

For the academic year 2014/2015 the maximum amount of the University tuition fees is € 2.354,00 (Regional fee and CUS fee included). The first instalment is € 407,00 (Regional fee and CUS fee included).
The winners with grant have to pay only the Regional fee of € 140,00.

To ask for the discount of the University tuition fee due to the economic condition is necessary to fill a form on line by Alice (no later than December, 31 2014, h. 14:00 CET). You have to login to the personal area with the ID and the Password used for the on-line registration to the competition. If the discount for economic condition is asked after December, 31 2014, h. 14:00 but non later than Marchl, 16 2015, the University of Pisa will asked a fine of € 300,00.

Benefits by the D.S.U.

If you asked benefits or grants to the D.S.U. (piazza dei Cavalieri 6 Pisa):
- you have to submit the obtained receipt
- you do not have to pay the first instalment of tuition fee, waiting the publication of the results of the D.S.U.
