Enrolment instructions and ranking lists

 

 

 

 

Enrolment deadline

Successful candidates, with or without grant, are required to register on Alice web portal (https://www.studenti.unipi.it) within 1 pm (Italy time) on October 7, 2020  or the admission to the PhD Programme and the eventual grant will decline.

How to enrol

Please note: before enrolment candidates are required to read carefully the call for admission at the link http://www.unipi.it/concorsodottorato and the practical guide at the end of the page.
For the enrolment procedure, please complete the following mandatory steps:

  • connect to Alice web portal and register (www.studenti.unipi.it)
  • select the PhD programme you have been admitted for
  • follow the online procedure and enter the requested data (see the practical guide at the end of the page)
  • upload the following documents:
    1. the enrolment form with all the requested documents (FORIMM/DOTT form) available at the end of the page
    2. the DICH/DOTT declaration (DICH/DOTT form) available at the end of the page
  • at the end of the procedure PLEASE:
    1. click on "Print tuition fee" to pay the first installment of € 156.00 (regional tax and revenue stamp) by one of the payment ways of the PagoPA system:
      - Pay online with PagoPA: the payment is acquired in a few minutes
      - Stampa Avviso per PagoPA: deliver the pdf to one of the authorized facilities (a bank or at a Sisa and Lottomatica operator)
      At https://www.unipi.it/index.php/tasse-e-diritto-allo-studio/item/15414-pagamento-tasse  are indicated ways of payment and it is possible to download a guide with the steps to make the payment;
    2. print the receipt of enrollment form.

PLEASE NOTE: THE “PEGASO” GRANTS APPLICANTS MUST:

  • to declare on the DICH/DOTT form that their age does not exceed 35 at the time of application
  • to declare on DICH/DOTT form to have an adequate knowledge of the English Language ( B2 level) and attach one of the following certification:
    1. an international accepted certificate.(Cambridge English Language Assessment, TOEFL, IELTS) equivalent to B2 level of the Common European Framework of reference for Languages http://www.cli.unipi.it/files/equipollenze/inglese_equip?lang=it)
    2. a certificate of an Italian or foreign University Language Centre
  • to declare on the DICH/DOTT form under their responsibility to be available to carry out an experience of study/research abroad for 4 months in the first two years, and 2 months in the third year (8 months in the first two years, and 4 months in the third year (when required by the international doctoral programme) and being aware that the failure to carry out the period of studies abroad may lead to the revocation of the full grant amount;
  • to declare on the DICH/DOTT form under their responsibility, for a specific topic-related scholarship only, the availability to carry out an experience of at least 3 months of training / research in an applicative context, such as a company, a public research institution, another public institution (non-university) and to be aware that failure in carrying it out may lead to the revocation of the full grant amount;
  • to declare on the DICH/DOTT form their availability to learn the soft skills and research and labour market proposed during the programme.

After enrolment, successful candidates are required to:

  • [only for candidates with foreign academic qualification] produce the original or the certified copy of the academic qualification within the beginning of the PhD programme (November 30, 2020)
  • [only for extra EU citizens] provide a valid Residency Permit within November 30, 2020.

After enrolment, the successful candidates awarded with a grant are also required to:

As an alternative to the above, the successful candidates with no grant award are required to email to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.  (within the deadline indicated to enrolment) the “SOLOCONBORSA” form (see end of page) to preserve admission to the programme, declaring what follows:

  • to waive the right to enroll without grant
  • to have interest only in the enrolment with grant in the event of a possible change in the order of the ranking.

In this case, the regional tax is not required.

Tuition fees and grants

The maximum contribution for PhD students with or without grant for the a.y. 2020/2021 is € 140,00 for the Regional tax. All PhD students are required to pay this tax except for convict students, students with at least a 66% disability or disabled students under art 3, paragraph 1 of the Law n.104, February 5, 1992.

10 PhD grants allocation based on ISEE value - Ranking List

RANKING LIST (APPROVED WITH RECTOR DECREE NO. 74/2021 REFERENCE NO. 5139 OF 19 janaury 2021) (published on the University Official Journal at http://alboufficiale.unipi.it)

PhD students without grant, entitled to the 10 PhD grants allocation based on ISEE value, are required to enrol and submit only the "DOTT-WG" Form by the mandatory deadline of 1 February 2021 using one of the following procedures:

2. submitting a "ticket” request on the "Virtual Desk" entering the “Alice web portal" credentials.
Please note: receipt date serving as proof.

Candidates failing to enroll by the mandatory deadline and according to the aforesaid procedures will be considered waivers thus losing their right for admission.

After enrolment, the successful candidates awarded with a grant are also required to:
• select the payment method for their monthly grant credit (instructions at the end of the page) on Alice web portal (www.studenti.unipi.it)
